I agree with the ‘before you buy’ page.
Research lots before ordering a bike, and not just compliance with local rules – supplier capability, administration, and support can be weak too.
A coffee tricycle ordered from a gastro supplier in Poland arrived damaged due to poor packaging. The supplier neglected to insure the shipment too, and denies all liability.
So beware of purchasing remotely.
I am a very active amputee with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Life is way toooo short to get in the way. I beat myself. I am looking for a foldable trike that will take as much of the roughness out of the ride for me as possible. I live in Maine and I’d like to be able to ride wherever my joints can handle. Easier Single track would be great, carriage trails in Acadia, streets and bike paths. I’m leaning more toward a mountain bike but would love to get some ideas.
If you are looking for the softest ride then you want an Hp Velotechnik Scorpion FS 26 or Hp Velotechnik Enduro. The Ice Adventure and ICE Sprint should also be on your list of trikes to consider. As for the Dumont it is Catrike’s softest riding trike but still much stiffer than the Hp or ICE trikes.
